Tribal Courts are Different
Most attorneys don’t practice in tribal courts. The ones who do must be familiar with the laws of that particular Indian Nation. To practice in the Tribal Court of the Osage Nation, an attorney should be familiar with the Osage Nation Code. To practice in the Tribal Court of the Pawnee Nation, an attorney should be familiar with the Pawnee Code of Law and Order. I am familiar with those Codes and I am admitted to practice in both the Tribal Court of the Osage Nation and the Tribal Court of the Pawnee Nation.
Tribal Courts can hear almost Every Type of case
The Tribal Court of the Osage Nation and the Tribal Court of the Pawnee Nation hear cases for criminal charges, juvenile matters, divorce, paternity, child custody, child support, guardianship, protective orders, juvenile deprived, civil litigation and more. And their respective tribal codes control all these matters. If you are going to Tribal Court, you will need an attorney who has experience with all those types of cases. I do.
Tribal Court calls for an attorney familiar with Tribal Law.
I have 15 years experience in the Tribal Court of the Osage Nation and the Tribal Court of the Pawnee Nation.
